ChlorForce M15 - Swimming Pool Chlorine Liquid 14-15%

ChlorForce M15 is a high quality liquid chlorine treatment or shock treatmnet for swimming pools.  ChlorForce M15 is to be added at the required dosage level directly to the pool, ensuring that the product is distributed as evenly as possible.  Circulate for as long as possible.  ChlorForce M15 is used as shock treatment, as a guide 400ml of fresh ChlorForce M15 will increase the free chlorine level by 1ppm in a 45,000 litre pool.  Free Chlorine levels must be maintained at between 1-3ppm.

Chlorforce M15 is made using Sodium hypochlorite which is a chemical compound with the formula NaClO. It is composed of a sodium cation (Na+) and a hypochlorite anion (ClO−); it may also be viewed as the sodium salt of hypochlorous acid. When dissolved in water it is commonly known as bleach or liquid bleach. Sodium hypochlorite is practically and chemically distinct from chlorine. Sodium hypochlorite is frequently used as a disinfectant or a bleaching agent.

Guidance for using Sodium Hypochlorite - Pool Chlorine

Sodium Hypochlorite 15% is used for the routine control of bacteria and algae in swimming pools.  For effective treatment ensure that the chlorine levels of the water are a level of 2-3mg/l (ppm).  The levels must be maintained above 1.5mg/l (ppm) as a minimum.  Once the chlorine has been applied the pH of the water must be adjusted to between 7.2 and 7.6 before use.  We recommend these levels are routinely checked by using a pool water testing kit.  When applying the Chlorine add at the point of best mixing, i.e. the water inlets and leave the filter running to ensure even distribution.  All personal protective equipment must be used when handling this product.

Treating a swimming pool with sodium hypochlorite (also known as bleach) is a common way to sanitize the water and keep it free of harmful bacteria and viruses. Here's how to do it safely and effectively:

  1. Determine the correct amount of sodium hypochlorite to add: The amount of bleach you need will depend on the size of your pool and the current levels of chlorine in the water.
  2. Dilute the sodium hypochlorite: Mix the bleach with water in a bucket according to the manufacturer's instructions. The recommended concentration is typically around 10%.
  3. Turn on the pool filter: Before adding the bleach, turn on the pool filter to circulate the water and ensure that the bleach is evenly distributed throughout the pool.
  4. Add the bleach solution: Slowly pour the diluted bleach into the pool, starting at one end and working your way around the perimeter. Be sure to pour it evenly to avoid creating any concentrated areas.
  5. Test the chlorine levels: Wait several hours for the chlorine to circulate and mix with the pool water. Use a pool testing kit to test the chlorine levels and make sure they are within the recommended range of 1-3 parts per million (ppm).
  6. Adjust the chlorine levels if necessary: If the chlorine levels are too low, add more bleach. If they are too high, allow the pool to circulate and filter the water for several hours to lower the levels naturally.
  7. Repeat the process as needed: Depending on usage and other factors, you may need to repeat the process of adding bleach to the pool every few days to maintain the proper chlorine levels.

Note: Always follow the manufacturer's instructions when handling sodium hypochlorite, and never mix it with other chemicals or cleaners. Additionally, it's important to maintain proper pH levels in the pool to ensure that the chlorine is effective. Aim for a pH level between 7.2-7.8.
