Operators of diesel vehicles in exposed or northerly locations are familiar with the problems caused by fuel "gelling" in the winter.
At low temperatures the ever present waxes in the fuel can block filters and bring vehicles to standstill. As the temperature falls below freezing, the diesel fuel becomes cloudy. Once below the cloud point, pencil like wax crystals form. These grow rapidly in a spiral pattern, to form thin plate like crystals which agglomerate. As the temperature falls further, the crystals form a solid mass and cause the diesel engine to stop running as the fuel injection system is unable to function.
The temperature at which the engine will cease to function can be accurately predicted using a Cold Filter Plugging Point (C.F.P.P.) Test.
Add Coldflow 2000 to your diesel fuel!
Coldflow 2000 is incorporated into the wax crystals at an early stage, distorting their growth pattern The crystals remain small and less prone to grow together, so that the fuel flows through pipes and coarse filters without difficulty.
Coldflow 2000 will not alter the cloud point of a fuel, but will depress the pour point. The amount of wax precipitated is not affected. The actual depression of the pour point depends upon the source of the base fuel and whether it is winter or summer grade. Whilst the oil companies supply a "winter" grade diesel fuel as standard, this is usually adequate for non-critical applications, and cold winters result in stranded vehicles.
When some petroleum diesel fuels are cooled to temperatures below their cloud points, wax crystals form within the fuel. Cold flow additives provide improved pour point and operability performance that
Reduces the risk of wax plugging filters and lines
Improves fuel handling
Improves low-temperature vehicle operability, reducing starting time and maintaining maximum power
May offer improved refining economics through upgrading of heavier products to the diesel pool (or kerosene upgrading to jet)
Coldflow 2000 will prevent diesel fuels from clouding and gelling at extremely low temperatures. Coldflow 2000 is a diesel cold flow improver designed to be used on middle distillate blends where gelling points are an issue.

Typical Dosage rate's - 500ppm (1/2 Litre per 1000 Litres of Diesel) - 1000ppm (1 Litre per 1000 Litres of Diesel)
"Coldflow 2000 is a tried and tested product and very few competitive products are prepared to quote dilutions and protection temperatures, so for your own protection and peace of mind always insist on Coldflow 2000."
In all cases the recommended treatment rate should be applied initially; subsequently, particularly with large users, empirical methods will determine the most economical method of treatment and quantity to be used. Coldflow 2000 should be added to the fuel when the temperature of the fuel is above its cloud point. Dose the fuel at the fuel depot or directly into the diesel engine fuel tank. Add the Coldflow 2000 to the fuel prior to topping up with the new fuel delivery. The turbulence will successfully mix the Coldflow 2000 through the fuel. Alternatively the Coldflow 2000 can be added at anytime to the fuel in storage and action of recirculating will ensure adequate dispersion.
Mixing may also be achieved by other means, such as physical agitation with a paddle, recirculating the diesel fuel if a filling out pump is used, or a compressed air line may even be used to agitate the fuel to give complete mixing.

*N.B. Generally the dosage rate will give fuel protection down to minus 27 degrees C, but it should be emphasized that these temperatures are dependent on the grade of diesel fuel in use. Specific results for any diesel fuel can only be obtained by laboratory testing.
