Requirements

As a result of the sucess of Phase I, Chemiphase was nominated to treat phase II, which was a further 80 acres of land which contained large volumes of heavily contaminated water.  The contaminants were similiar to those found in Phase I.

Chemiphase Process

Chemiphase designed, built and supplied a plant designed to treat 500 tonnes per hour of contaminated water, 24 hours per day, almost continuously for a 20 week period.  The Chemiphase treatment process was similar to that of Phase I and again, treated water was discharged into the river Tees under NRA supervision in compliance with the discharge consents.

Results

Both treatment phases proved to be successful and the land has been designated for commercial development in the near future.
